EYE DAZZLER
This CUT-IT-OUT collection is called Eye Dazzler after a type of pattern used in textiles by the Native Americans meant to change one’s perspective of reality. Yelena Konovalova used the language of tribal art and combined it with her signature pop aesthetic to create a visual dance of precise geometric patterns. Subtle in color, but expressive in emotion it offers a glimpse into dreams and memories through a collage of black and white photo cutouts. The spirit of glistening rain, cherished by many ancient cultures for its mystical and cleansing properties, is captured in foil and metallic fringe. The colors, textures and patterns dazzle not only the eye but also mind and spirit.
