DOLLS
CUT-IT-OUT is a humorous printed jersey collection, designed by Yelena Konovalova. She grew up and studied art in St. Petersburg, Russia, fashion design in Parsons New York, and worked for several years as a Design Director for Catherine Malandrino.

Born through the experimentation of folding and cutting paper CUT-IT-OUT creates intricate visual stories. Each garment is part of a rhythmical symmetry that tells a tale, which is both mischievous and imaginative. The intricate process of cutting paper leads to bold single-color prints. Applied onto T-shirt silhouettes, these patterns provide a visual exaggeration of shape and proportion: sleeve verses body, dress verses T-shirt.

The first limited edition CUT-IT-OUT pieces draw their inspiration from Russian folk-art and pagan fairy-tales. Dolls and jokers of the past reappear in a modern world surrounded by the geometry of patterns and bold primary colors. These soft cotton tees, dresses, hoodies and sweats strike the balance between statement clothes and comfort wear. The pieces are designed with an obsession for detail; yet always maintain a sense of lightheartedness.
